Music Festivals in Michigan
Music festivals and music events, including music competitions contests, occur in Michigan every month because the State celebrates the creative culture and creative economy. When planning a vacation in Michigan, visitors should schedule at least one music concert. Interlochen Center for the Arts, Meadowbrook, Cranbrook Music Guild, and Pine Knob offer lots of concerts for all music lovers. However, there are lots of non-traditional venues in Michigan including symphony spaces and auditoriums at the Michigan Universities. However, many small Michigan cafes provide unique festival and concert venues in AJ’s Music Café in Ferndale.
To keep up with the Blues and Jazz Festival scene in Michigan, visitors should listen to the Juke Joint on Central Michigan Public Radio for weekly festival and concert updates and schedules. The Detroit Blues Society has festivals, concerts, and awards (see Detroit Music Awards and Music Competitions and Contests).
