Michigan Outdoor Activities

TravelMichigan.com is continually challenged to showcase the numerous outdoor activities available in Michigan. Michigan is truly an outdoor activities leader for families and sports enthusiast among the lower 48 states. Whatever your interest is in outdoor activities, you will find opportunities on TravelMichigan.com.

Special for the Fall Season: Hunting & Fishing

During the fall, outdoor enthusiasts think about hunting. Although each state has its season, there are some states and provinces that have special hunting seasons and are very popular for all hunters. Hunters should check state DNR websites for specific hunting season dates and licensing regulations.

Midwestern hunters flock to Michigan for the white-tail deer and turkey while other hunters prefer Alaska, Montana, North and South Dakota, Oklahoma, and West Virginia. Among the Canadian Provinces, Manitoba is probably one of the most popular hunting provinces. In Canada, hunters also like Deer Lake in Newfoundland/Labrador, Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories, and the McKenzie Mountains and Pelly Mountains in the Yukon and Northwest Territories.

Fall fishing also really exciting, especially fishing for salmon. Again, when outdoor enthusiasts want specific information about fishing seasons and regulations, check the state DNR websites before planning a fishing trip.
