Bed & Breakfasts, Weddings, Honeymoons, and Anniversaries

Many couples are looking for unusual romantic getaways for their weddings, honeymoons, and anniversaries.

In Michigan, Mackinac Island is becoming a romantic destination for summer and early fall weddings, honeymoons, and anniversaries. Just think how romantic it is to arrive on the island by a ferry, one of the Arnold Line, and at the wedding in a carriage or having the reception is one of the lovely Victorian ballrooms or dining rooms in the quaint Mackinac Island hotels like the Grand Hotel. Besides getting married on the island, honeymooners find the quiet Mackinac Island evenings perfect for romantic strolls along the beach or just standing on the waters’ edge watching the lights on the Mackinac Bridge that spans the Straits of Mackinac or freighters slowly moving by the Island. Because Mackinac Island is “a place that time forgot,” it also provides a quiet venue for couples celebrating their anniversaries, especially at its great restaurants.

In addition to Mackinac Island, Michigan has some unusual wedding and honeymoon destinations. Imagine having a romantic wedding at the top of a dune at the National Seashore, Sleeping Bear Dunes, or at historic Greenfield Village at the Henry Ford which provides a year-round wedding venue. Many of the beautiful parks and gardens in Michigan are perfect for outdoor weddings.

Honeymooners and couples celebrating their anniversaries can find plenty of romantic resorts and hotels throughout Michigan. The resorts, such as Bay Mills, have gaming and golfing for recreation and fine dining for celebrations. Some of the resorts also have spas.

Niagara Falls in Ontario and New York also are honeymoon and anniversary destinations for many couples east of the Mississippi River. The Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania like Virginia have often been honeymoon and anniversary destinations. In fact, a popular motto of Virginia is that "Virginia is for lovers." Additionally, the southeastern coastal islands also are romantic spots.

The Ozarks provide a beautiful honeymoon and anniversary destination while New Orleans offers a musical getaway for romance and fun. While for many Las Vegas, Nevada is a popular wedding destination, Maui is emerging as a romantic destination for weddings, honeymoons, and anniversaries.

Most of the Caribbean Islands have special vacation and romantic getaway packages for couples looking for special places for weddings, honeymoons, and weddings-especially around the winter and spring holidays.
